Facilitated a study visit for the Directorate for Financial and Monetary coordination to the US. The goal was to meet leaders in key sectors that could benefit the financial market including:

Trade Mission of the Direction of Financial and Monetary Control in the US

Congress and USAID to provide technical assistance to Cameroon Banks especially the small business bank to ensure it could successfully be a change agent that grows the SMB sector
Executives at the NY Stock Exchange (Philadelphia Operations) to discuss best practices on the innerworkings of stock exchange in light of the modernization of the Douala Stock exchange
Federal Reserve of Philadelphia to understanding key processes that could the Ministry’s staff i.e., best practices for running stress tests
Investors hat are looking to work with the Ministry to bring innovative investment vehicles to Cameroon especially crowd funding.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has faced multiple epidemics during the last 10 years, including Ebola, that caused many fatalities. Building from that experience, many mayors have established programs to improve the resiliency of their cities. The goal is to be better prepared to manage first and second order impacts of pandemics like COVID-19. Since March 2020, the country has experienced a rise in COVID-19 cases. Given the limited resources on both the national and local levels, the DRC has not been able to build the necessary screening capacity to better identify and report on COVID-19 cases and December 2020 has only made that a more pressing issue....

Pemba is an emerging city due to the discovery of oil and gas deposits in the Province of Cabo Delgado, which has attracted several enterprises and individuals from various corners of the country and the world. Based on the above, the city has been experiencing a demographic surge and increased mobility of people and goods. Both factors may have contributed to the COVID-19 spread in the city. As a result, Pemba was declared the city with the second highest “community transmission” of COVID-19.
