As part of the Ivory Coast Small Busines Agency’s effort to strengthen the economic cooperation between the Ivory Coast and the USA and grow local small and medium businesses, the agency partnered with UASG Advisors, the Ivory Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the US, Canada and Mexico and the African Caribbean Business Council to launched a SMB growth initiative in 2018 with the following key pillars:

Identify and position local SMB to do business with the United States
Create an AGOA information and networking portal for SMEs
The goal is to provide information related to the US market and existing export opportunities through AGOA
Provide technical assistance to local Small Business Agency
The objective is to collaboration with the US SBA (building on joint event SBA/Ivory Coast in November 2018 in Philadelphia) to obtain technical assistance and learn from US best practices to grow the local SMB network
Launch a digital city pilot project in San Pedro
This activity aims to support the anticipated economic boom once the port to port link between San Pedro and Philadelphia is established.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has faced multiple epidemics during the last 10 years, including Ebola, that caused many fatalities. Building from that experience, many mayors have established programs to improve the resiliency of their cities. The goal is to be better prepared to manage first and second order impacts of pandemics like COVID-19. Since March 2020, the country has experienced a rise in COVID-19 cases. Given the limited resources on both the national and local levels, the DRC has not been able to build the necessary screening capacity to better identify and report on COVID-19 cases and December 2020 has only made that a more pressing issue....
