COVID-19 2nd Order Impact (Africa Hub)
The COVID-19 impact on the African continent has followed a rather gradual trend as opposed to the rapid surges occurring in many other countries. Given the above, Africa is a very interesting use case to understand how countries have prepared themselves to handle the pandemic, manage their infection peaks, define and implement measures to understand the impact on key sectors like social/education, healthcare and the economy.

The goal of the Cities’ COVID Mitigation Mapping (C2M2) is to provide detailed and useful insight regarding the secondary impacts of COVID-19 embedded in the health-care systems, economy, and social sector in three countries: Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kenya, Mozambique. Each country will have a local project team. The project is executed in collaboration with the Center for Disease Control in Kenya, and the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD).
